Talks & panels
Speaking
For years I spoke at developer conferences, mostly in the Midwest but sometimes around the country and the world. I don’t really do that much anymore, but I’d still love to if the right event came up.
What I’d talk about today
- Building software products without lighting money on fire. What non-technical founders and operators get wrong before the first line of code.
- AI for real businesses. Where large language models actually save time, and where they quietly make things worse.
- Fractional leadership. How growing companies get senior product and technology leadership without hiring a full-time CTO.
- How long will it take? My software estimation talk from Stir Trek, Self.conference, Midwest PHP, Momentum and more. The principles still hold. The actual answers are very different now that AI is part of how software gets built.
